Dakota and Kristen’s “Intense Lip Lock”

It has been widely reported on LGBT websites and beyond this past week that Dakota Fanning and Kristen Stewart will be engaging in an “intense lip-lock” in their upcoming film, The Runaways. The film, a coming-of-age biopic about ’70s teenage band The Runaways featuring Stewart as Joan Jett and Fanning as Cherie Currie, has been receiving a lot of attention from the media for this alleged lesbian scene – where sources report that after the big kiss “their clothes end up scattered all over their hotel-room floor” – but is 15-year-old Dakota really ready for this kind of role? Although Cherie Currie herself was not yet 16 when she joined The Runaways, casting an actress who is actually that age seemed a little odd, especially considering the reported sex scenes. However, Dakota Fanning is definitely one of the most talented young actresses in Hollywood so perhaps it was a brilliant move. Regardless, a movie about The Runaways is something that many members of the lesbian community are excited about and with Stewart and Fanning we know it won’t disappoint. We just hope that the scene (however creepy it might seem now… 15 is young) doesn’t end up on the cutting room floor.
