LGBT Cinema & Industry Mixer: I’m With Cupid

I’M WITH CUPID, taking place on Friday, February 12^th from 7:00pm – 10:00pm, is the second annual Valentine’s Day-themed event presented by HOMOtracker, the powerhouse industry networking group comprised of gay and lesbian movers and shakers and the organization behind the bi-annual industry shindigs FallOut and SpringOut. All proceeds will benefit OUTFEST, which is the leading organization showcasing, nurturing and preserving lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender film images and artistry.

Young gay Hollywood’s upwardly mobile professionals will gather to network and raise money to help protect the past, showcase the present, and nurture the future of LGBT cinema. HOMOtracker, in association with Tom Whitman, have partnered with OUTFEST again in an effort to further support gay film.

HOMOtracker began as the brainchild of a small group of lesbian and gay professionals seeking to exchange information, give advice, and gain support in the entertainment industry. The group has since expanded its focus to include community outreach efforts which have benefited the LA Gay & Lesbian Center, the “No On 8, Equality for All” campaign, and most recently, OUTFEST. Members of HOMOtracker received HRC’s E-HERO Award in 2009 for a series of PSA’s produced in response to the passage of Proposition 8 in the state of California.

Outfest is the leading organization showcasing, nurturing and preserving lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender film images and artistry. For 28 years Outfest has led the charge, spotlighting emerging talent, creating community between filmmakers and audiences, and offering a world-class forum for stories that reflect and often transform LGBT lives. Since its founding in 1982, Outfest has showcased over 4,200 films for audiences of well over half a million people. The organization’s festivals, year-round screening series, and special events bring together film lovers, innovative artists, celebrities, entertainment industry professionals … and some of the hottest parties around! Outfest is also the only nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring that the extensive but threatened LGBT film heritage is preserved. Since the beginning of the struggle for LGBT equality, visionary filmmakers have recorded their lives, challenges, and triumphs on film. Outfest is committed to saving, preserving, and providing access to that precious, affirming heritage for generations to come.

HOMOtracker and Tom Whitman Presents are excited to support OUTFEST at this fun, festive, and enchanting event. A $20 donation includes open bar, hosted by Absolut, and 100% of the proceeds will benefit OUTFEST.
