Labor Day Weekend in New Orleans means Southern Decadence and this year the celebration will take place from Wednesday, September 2nd through Monday, September 7th.
Now in its 38th year, Southern Decadence is one of the gay and lesbian world’s major annual events. With nearly 100,000 participants, it ranks as one of New Orleans’ largest celebrations.
The “Diva of Decadence” Chi Chi LaRue returns as host for his twelfth anniversary year. Chi Chi will be joined by the world-famous Drag-Diva Lady Bunny, plus the irreverent Sister Roma from San Francisco’s legendary Sisters Of Perpetual Indulgence.
Deca-Dance will celebrate its 21st anniversary on Saturday night featuring DJ Max Rodriguez with a live performance by Pepper Mashay at The Bourbon Pub / Parade, where you can enjoy an amazing DJ lineup all weekend long. DJ Lydia Prim headlines Friday night’s EUPHORIA party, and DJ Don Bishop makes his Decadence debut for Sunday night’s MELTDOWN party.
The Bourbon Street Extravaganza returns on Saturday afternoon. This free outdoor concert presented by The Bourbon Pub and Napoleon’s Itch features performances by Deborah Cox, Sandy Anderson as Dolly Parton, and Jeanie Tracy.
All of this combines to make for an unforgettable party, street fair, and entertainment experience.
